Depart Arusha town for Arusha National Park game viewing. At first participate in a 2 hour walking safari, where you may get fairly close up to Giraffes, Buffalos, Zebras, various antelopes species and fluffy-tailed Black and White Colobus Monkeys. After lunch enjoy a game drive to the Momela Lakes; full of Pink Flamingos, before visiting the volcanic Ngurdoto Crater. In the afternoon drive to Tarangire National Park for dinner and overnight. Enjoy a whole day game drive in Tarangire National Park, where large population of Elephants can be seen all year round. Tarangire is also known for its high density of wildlife; including Wildebeests, Zebras, Elands, Elephants, Buffalos, Hartebeests and rare Oryx migrate from the Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River – in search of water. Lions, Leopards and other predators follow this natural migration of plains game. The park is also famous for its giant, ancient Baobab trees, scattered across the park. After breakfast depart to the lush Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. This little park is situated within the Great Rift Valley and at the foot of the Escarpment. It provides a home to a wide range of different animals including Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Hippos and more than 400 species of birds, but its most famous feature are the unusual tree-climbing Lions that like to rest on Acacia tree branches six to seven meters above the ground. In the morning drive to Tanzania’s largest soda lake – Lake Eyasi. After lunch explore the lake shore where large flocks of Pink Flamingos can be observed. Overnight: Tented Camp/or Basic Camp (there are no Lodge facilities!)
After early breakfast transfer to where the Hadzabe tribe (East Africa’s only real Bushmen) reside, and join them on a morning hunt for food and find out how to survive in the wilderness. Get to know their unique culture and way of living, which has not changed for thousands of years. You will be taught how to make fire without matches and a word or two in their unusual click language. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/Basic Camping.
After breakfast descend into the eighth wonder of the world or ‘Africa’s natural Zoo’ as the Ngorongoro Crater is also referred as. You will have the whole day to explore its rich wildlife and search for the famous Big Five. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/Basic Camping.
After breakfast head off to the world’s most famous wildlife park, the Serengeti, with an optional stop at a Maasai village. The Maasai are pastoral nomads who have vigorously resisted change, living as they have for centuries. Afterwards visit the ‘cradle of mankind’ at Olduvai Gorge. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park; it’s size the equivalent to Ireland. It is home to more than four million different animals and the origins of the remarkable annual Wildebeest Migration. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/Basic Camping.
Spend the whole day searching for Lions, Spotted Hyenas, Leopards, Cheetahs, Servals, Caracals, Giraffes, Buffalos, Topi, Hartebeests, Waterbucks, Impalas, Reedbucks, Bushbucks, Kirk’s Dik-diks, Hippopotamus, Crocodiles, Warthogs and diverse birdlife. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/Basic Camping.
Begin the day at sunrise with a game drive within the north-eastern boundaries of the park. Aptly the Serengeti means ‘endless plains’ in Maa, the Maasai language. After lunch drive to Lake Natron; one of Tanzania’s most beautiful soda lakes, famous for its population of several hundred thousands of Lesser Flamingos who come to the lake to breed. Dinner and overnight.
Early in the morning (between 3.00 a.m. and 4.00 a.m.) you will be transferred to the foot of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Maasai’s Mountain of God. Here you start the trek up to its peak at 2878 m. Descend from the mountain around noon, with a lunch tour of the Lake Natron. In the afternoon return to Arusha.
